Could you be a volunteer?

Do you have good common sense? An ability to listen? The skill to deal with people in a friendly and professional manner? Good telephone or IT skills?

If so, you could volunteer to help us at the centre. Read on for more information.

What is involved?

Volunteers are asked to complete a simple application form and provide suitable references. Following an interview with out manager and receipt of satisfactory references, volunteers will start to receive gradual training at the centre under the guidance of the volunteer team and manager.

What's in it for you?

Being a volunteer has a number of advantages and real benefits - not least the fact that you are helping to make a real difference to people's lives.

Plus you will get:

  • valuable work based experience
  • increased confidence
  • transferable skills

If you are currently unemployed, voluntary work can be a useful way to gain office based skills or keep existing skills current and will certainly enhance your CV.

Additionally, volunteers are encouraged to attend a range of development workshops and courses. These are all free of charge and run by a wide range of organisations, designed to help you meet the needs of our clients.

We welcome applicants from across the whole range of society and operate an equal opportunity and diversity policy which ensures that we meet the needs of our community.
