Robust legal advice

We provide a free legal advice service to the local community with the help of a number of local volunteer solicitors and barristers.

Every Tuesday evening between 7pm and 8pm our advisors deal with a wide range of issues for our clients. The service is on a " first come-first served" basis and can get extremely busy so it is worth turning up early to be sure that you will be seen.

Our legally qualified team can advise you on:

  • divorce and family issues
  • employment law and disputes
  • adoption
  • housing
  • criminal proceedings
  • contracts and business disputes

Documents

If you wish to use this service, it is essential that you bring all relevant paperwork with you, sorted into date order.

Remember that if you have corresponded with people about a legal matter you should always keep a copy of the correspondence. It is also helpful to note on the correspondence the date on which you received it.

Immigration Advice

We cannot normally deal with Immigration advice during our Tuesday evening sessions but we can make an appointment for you to see the Barnet Law Service who can advise on immigration matters.

Typically they can help you deal with:

  • refugee status/asylum applications
  • marriage/fiance issues
  • dependents abroad
  • travel documents
  • contact with the Home Office

Please remember that you MUST make an appointment for this service and it is essential that you bring all relevant paperwork to your meeting along with your passport or other identity document.
